It's typical for families and groups going skiing to have mixed abilities, often ranging from advanced and proficient skiers to novice and even complete beginners. It's important when choosing a ski resort to make sure that everyone is catered for. We wait all year round to get back on the slopes, and there's nothing worse for a competent skier to spend their holiday being carved-up by novice skiers snow-ploughing back and forth across the piste, or conversely, for novice skiers faced with moguls, technical runs and steep slopes that far exceed their ability.
Les Arcs is the most popular ski resort and favourite ski resort of the French for a good reason; it has something for everyone.
From gorgeous uncrowded wide pistes through the trees in Peisey Vallandry to the high altitude summit of Agullie Rouge and it’s famous 11km Red run down to Villaroger and it’s welcoming blue runs on the west facing slopes above Les Arc 1650 and 1800; there is a favourite piste for everyone.
Skiers of all abilities flock to Les Arcs in strong numbers. Most of the skiing is above 1600 metres, and all 250 kms of pistes provide endless off piste opportunities for advanced skiers.
Les Arcs also has a superb, modern lift system that gets you around the resort quickly and is also linked to La Plagne creating one of the largest ski resorts in the world, Paradiski.
The Vanoise Express was built in 2005 at a cost of €14 million. It’s a ‘must’ to get across, making the 2.2km stretch in less than 20 minutes. Snowfall is serious in Les Arcs, it’s a stones throw from Tignes, Val D’Isere and La Rosiere, views of Mt.Blanc appear throughout your day whilst whizzing down your favourite piste.
There’s a fabulous snow park, a fun water ski challenge in the spring, an incredible luge run, Follie Deuce of course in Les Arcs 1800 and a choice of great restaurants.
For us, Les Arcs has it all and to help you choose a great place to stay, our fabulous seven en-suite bedroom Chalet Eagles Nest offers high quality accommodation with an outdoor hot tub, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The chalet was hand built by a local craftsman in 2002 and is only a five minute walk from the nearest lift.
We live and love Les Arcs as it offers:
