La Rosiere is a fabulous resort in January. It’s high at 1850mts and you rarely queue for a lift. There's great access to the mountains up to Montvalezan at almost 3,000mts. The skies can be so vast up there, you'll feel like you are on top of the world. La Rosiere, which is located in the Espace San Bernardo ski area, is one of our favourite ski resorts, retaining its French culture but split between France and Italy with an even spread of ski terrain across both countries.
Skiing in January in La Rosiere is a beautiful experience, it's south facing across the Tarentaise and within close proximity of Mt.Blanc. Cold crispy big blue skies, views to die for and uncrowded pistes. The pistes have something for every skier seeking wide open pistes and an expansive ski resort area. Skiing in January is a no brainer here, guaranteed high altitude snow, La Rosiere ski resort is often in the top three rated resorts for snow depth in Europe. Of course, January can see huge dumps of fresh snow adding to the adventure, so be advised to wrap up warm and be prepared for winter up there.
La Rosiere has a bowling alley, an ice rink, a cinema and a whole range of restaurants and bars to choose from. Always some live music happening somewhere and a nightclub!
We have two gorgeous, 'chocolate box' style chalets in La Rosiere; Chalet Chocard which sleeps 12 comfortably (up to 15 on request) and Chalet Caspar, a slightly smaller and very comfortable chalet for 10-12 guests.
So for your ski holidays in January, we cannot recommend La Rosiere ski resort enough. It's beautiful, it's high and it’s a fairly good size. Especially good for groups of mixed ability and the lower slopes are strongly recommended for beginners and novice skiers.
