This summer why not avoid the extreme heat and huge crowds of the usual coastal destinations and head to the glorious Alps where the air is fresh, the sky is blue and most days it's t-shirt weather too?!
The resorts are open and they hold a variety of local and cultural events throughout the summer to keep you entertained. With a multitude of activities on offer from mountain biking, hiking, road cycling, rock climbing to white water rafting and kayaking to name but a few and chalets in peaceful and beautiful locations, you can be as active as you like or simply rest and recharge with the views of the stunning mountains.

France:
· Check out the nearby World-Class resorts of Val d’Isere and Tignes, each with a multitude of activities on offer.
· Drive to Annecy and it’s beautiful lake. Walk part of the greenway on the shore of Lake Annecy, one of the oldest cycle paths in France and without question one of the most beautiful or cycle the entire 42km around the entire lake.
· Avid road cyclists can challenge themselves to climbing the world-famous Cols: Col de I'Iseran, Col de Madeleine and Cormet de Roselend, or up to the Col du Petit St Bernard from La Rosiere, down into La Thuile in Italy and back up again into La Rosiere.
Italy:
· Head to Courmayeur for lunch then take the Skyway revolving cable car up to Pointe Helbronner on the southern side of the Mont Blanc massif for some awe-inspiring views.
· Drive through the Aosta valley which boasts delicious gourmet cuisine and a wealth of cultural adventures and stop off in Aosta (known as the ‘Rome of the Alps’) for a traditional lunch.
· A ‘must-do’: Pré-Saint-Didier Thermal Spa - recharge your batteries in the hots springs of Pré-Saint-Didier, in the shadow of Mont Blanc. Built in 1834, the spa’s pools collect thermal water that springs from the mountain at a temperature of around 37°. The spa offers around thirty treatments (3 outdoor thermal pools, saunas, Turkish baths or steam rooms, hydro-massage jets and waterfalls, aromatherapy, panoramic and chromatic relaxation rooms, sensory rooms, etc.). Relaxation and bliss with stunning views of Mont Blanc, an incredible place to get away from it all.
Or simply relax, recharge and recuperate in the fresh mountain air!
The chalets are located in perfect spots to simply chill in the sun admiring the gorgeous mountains and topping up the tan. Yes, you can get a suntan in the Alps in the summer, temperatures can reach as high as 34 degrees! Both La Rosiere and Montchavin have local spas and leisure complexes where you can enjoy swimming or beauty treatments and massages to help you unwind.
