La Tania Ski Resort is a small but popular family friendly ski resort, nestled in the forest between Courchevel and Meribel and it’s an ideal base to explore the Three Valley ski area. Opened in 1990, it was the last village to be built in the Three Valleys and it grew into a ski resort back in 1992, when additional accommodation was built for the winter Olympics. La Tania offers a cost-effective and laid back alternatives to its' more famous and pricier neighbouring resorts.
Whilst they are some large apartment blocks in the ski resort of La Tania, it is more attractive than most modern ski resorts with pretty chalet areas and a good choice of shops, restaurants and bars. The village has a wonderfully car-free centre, everything is accessible on foot. With undulating blue and green runs back to the resort and a dedicated children’s area, it’s perfect for families.
Restaurants range from inexpensive pizzas and snack food to the Michelin starred gastronomic restaurant, Le Farcon. British run pub the Ski Lodge provides familiar British dishes and there are several middle of the range family-run restaurants offering French/Savoyard cuisine.The Bouc Blanc is a long standing favourite on the pistes, reachable from a Tania by gondola lift (pedestrian access available).
The Three Valleys will delight all skiers and especially families, combining the pleasure and ease of skiing with children in a well groomed ski area. The area offers some of the best off-piste itineraries available anywhere in Europe for experts with a taste for adventure. There is also a snowpark for boarders and skiers and with one of the most modern lift systems in Europe, the area prides itself on having quick and easy access across all valleys.

If you don’t ski, La Tania has plenty of charming walks to offer amongst the wonderful mountain scenery on one of many paths through the trees and a pedestrian lift pass will offer you the opportunity to go up the mountain, join your friends for lunch at the Bouc Blanc and have a steady walk back down (or gondola). There’s a small supermarket, bars, restaurants, bakery, newsagent, sports shops, tourist office, medical centre, three ski schools and kindergartens too. The free shuttle bus allows you to visit the neighbouring resorts as well.
Whilst La Tania is one of the quieter ski resorts in the Three Valleys, it boasts one of the best pubs in the valley, the Ski Lodge. They hold regular live music nights with some of the best bands in the Alps playing so if you are looking to dance on tables in true après style, this is the place to go! There’s also the Chrome Bar and La Taiga.
