There is an understated air of luxury, comfort, relaxation and indulgence in the air in St Martin de Belleville that makes it one of the best locations in the Three Valleys for the perfect ski holiday. It's unique cultural heritage is intriguing and there are plenty of opportunities to discover what that's all about when you step into the St Martin De Belleville museum or go on a guided tour of the village. The village retains the unique French Ski Resort feel we all look for with charming traditional buildings, alleyways all centered around the magnificent church taking pride of place.
The resort lays on lots of events like the ever popular torch-light descent run by the local ESF ski school, which is accompanied with a wonderful firework display during peak weeks. The church regularly holds music events too with a range of artists assisting over the course of the season.
There's access to some of the best skiing in the World, in the Three Valleys however on some of the slopes nearby you can enjoy perfect snow and less crowds than elsewhere. Jerusalem is a run not to be missed.
Although St Martin is one of the smaller resorts, there are still plenty of activities off the slopes to choose from including husky sledding, snow shoe walks, torch-lit guided tours of the village, the museum, heritage trails, outdoor escape game and for anyone needing a bit of peace, the new La Belle Vie wellness centre with pool, no less than 4 different saunas, steam room, warm jacuzzi pool and plunge pool offers pure relaxation and zen away from the slopes. Lots of treatments are available there too. Find out more about it in our blog here.
The varied restaurants offer refined cuisine and it’s one of few ski resorts boasting a restaurant with a Michelin star and a restaurant with glass panels overlooking a farm with goats and sheep that provide milk for the cheeses they serve. St Martin is the jewel of the Three Valleys!
There are three spots in St Martin to enjoy a drink or two after skiing. The Lodji Hotel and its’ Bar du Torè offer a lively chic ambience with DJ’s outside playing up-to-date beats. With carefully selected wines and excellent draught Belgian beers, it’s the place to be seen. The Pourqoui Pas (the Why Not?) offers a calm ambience which livens up with live music twice a week and a very popular English quiz night on Tuesdays. Book a table in advance to avoid disappointment. Finally L’Art B, the French bar as its’ known, also has live music twice a week and offers a range of weird and wonderful shots to get the party going. We highly recommend avoiding the Onion shot at all costs!
